Lake Mburo National Park is the closest park to both Kampala and Entebbe. Lake Mburo National Park is located approximately 240 kilometers from Kampala and only 30 Kilometers from Mbarara – the biggest town in Western Uganda.

Kyanyanshara Gate is 18 km south of Akagate Trading Center, which is 14 km west of Lyantonde. Nshara Gate is located along a 9 km dirt road, 500 meters west of Akagate. The park is about a 4-hour drive from Kampala, depending on weather conditions and any stops along the way, such as a visit to the Mpambire Trading Center or the Equator at Kayabwe. Alternatively, you can access the park via Mbarara using Sanga or Nshara gates, both of which are approximately 2 km from the Rwonyo Park headquarters.
